10-Year-Old Chess Prodigy to Represent Yobe at National Youth Games

A 10-year-old chess prodigy from Yobe State, Mohammed Mubarak, is set to participate in the 2025 National Youth Games in Asaba, Delta State, becoming the youngest athlete.

 

Mubarak began playing chess at the age of 7 and has been actively participating in state and zonal elimination series.

 

He expressed his excitement about the upcoming event, eager to showcase his skills on the national stage.

 

Mubarak’s coach, Chuxphoenix, expressed confidence in the young player’s abilities, noting that he has been participating in the sporting arena for a while.

 

“With his passion for chess and determination to succeed, Mubarak is set to make a mark at the 2025 National Youth Games,” Chuxphoenix said.

 

This will be Mubarak’s first national level outing, and he is eager to make a good impression.

 

The 9th National Youth Games is scheduled to take place in Asaba, Delta State, between August 29 and September 6, 2025, where 36 states and the FCT in over 37 sports disciplines, including athletics, football, basketball, and more, are designed to promote unity and discipline through sports.
