The Supreme Court has declared that the Legacy Peoples Democratic Party Candidates remains the authentic Candidates.
The appeal court had ruled that the delegates issue is a Party issue and that the legacy PDP went for a better interpretation at the Supreme Court which also Affirmed the ruling of the appellate court, making the legacy PDP delegates who were the legitimate candidates at the convention as presented by the party as the authentic one.
The Party had sent names to INEC of it’s Candidates
The judgement of the Supreme Court today Friday concerning the authenticity of the Edo PDP delegates is that the court does not have jurisdiction to deliberate on a case brought to it by delegates as their emergence is the party matter.
The party is expected to have followed through the process.
Therefore, the Supreme Court then upheld the Court of Appeal earlier ruling that the issue of delegates is a party affair.
The case on the party candidates, which has since been filed before the Supreme Court, was yet to be decided and it was also expected to go in favor of the Orbih camp having fulfilled all the requirements of the new electoral in conducting their primaries across board.
