The presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has mocked the Labour Party (LP) over the conviction of the former director general of Obi-Datti presidential campaign, Doyin Okupe, for breaching the Money Laundering Act by a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja.
Sowore reacted to the Okupe’s conviction via his twitter handle, he his party, AAC, is different from other parties as it does not have money launders in its fold.
Recall that upon conviction, Okupe was sentenced to two and a half years in prison, however, with an option of N500, 000 fine on each of the 26 count charges, totalling N13m.
Truth Live News reported that Okupe resigned his position as LP presidential campaign director general on Tuesday, December 21st.
Sowore, who reacted to the situation on his twitter handle, said “We’re glad to restate again that we are different, that we do not have have money launderers in our midst @doyinokupe, that we don’t have a massacre defender, Gen. Enenche (retd), we don’t have corrupt godfathers-Obasanjo & Babangida.
