A Special Assistant to the Cross River State Governor, Mr. Tom Adie, aka, Tompolo has been caught on camera wielding guns and threatening to kill members of the main opposition political party, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, holding a meeting in their own house.
Mr. Adie who is from the same Kakum village as Gov. Ben Ayade is said to be notorious for brandishing guns always threatening people that he could kill and nothing will happen, according to investigations by Truth Live News.
An eyewitness who narrated the ugly incident which caused residents of the area to panic and run for their life told TLN that “Tompolo” mobilized his henchmen, one Fidelis Undie, aka, Bafup, and Romeo Odey notorious thugs and cultists who are well dreaded in Obudu community went to attack the opposition party members to ensure the party never held the meeting.
Our investigation revealed that Mr. Andoya was about to hold a political meeting with his family members when these notorious thugs arrived at their compound in two SUVs brandishing guns and other dangerous killing weapons and threatening to kill them if the meeting went ahead.
Our source narrated that the same set of gunmen were the ones recruited from “one murderous gang in Obudu and named appointees of Governor Ayade with a mandate to cause havoc in Obudu during the forthcoming elections.
The attack was said to have been reported to the Obudu Police division without any action being taken against the alleged gunmen, the aide to the governor, and his gang of guns brandishing thugs.
When TLN international crime correspondent called the Divisional Police Officer in charge of Obudu to confirm the story, the DPO, Mr. Ikechukwu, spoke in the affirmation, stating that the alleged attack was actually reported and his men were investigating the incident and promised to give more updates to TLN if he calls back in another day.
But our investigation also revealed that as the 2023 general elections approach, the governor is head bent on winning the state for his party, the All Progressive Congress, APC and resulting in intimidation and harassment of opposition parties having lost his popularity among the electorates.
