The embattled Governor of Edo state, Godwin Obaseki was backlashed by some social media users who got enraged by the governor’s claim that he was welcomed by market men and women on his visit to markets in Benin, yesterday March 7.
In the post, Obaseki said he visited major markets in the Benin metropolis and met rousing welcome from the traders who pledged to vote for the People’s Democratic Party PDP candidates in the forthcoming March 15 election.
Recall that the governor earlier lost woefully in the February 25 election where he lost his ward and state to the Labour Party LP.
Seeing his post on Instagram, residents of the state who were present in some markets he visited, refuted his claim. While some said he was not welcomed to the market as he claimed, others questioned his loyalty and presence in some parts of the state, during his 8years tenure.
