Prior to the Easter celebration in Anambra, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Anambra State Command, has ordered the deployment of 1077 officers.
Mr. Isidore Chikere, the Anambra State Command Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, disclosed this today, at the Command Headquarters Awka while addressing officers and men on the need to adhere to the Easter celebration operational order put in place by the Commandant General of NSCDC.
According to the commandant, “He has ordered officers and men drawn from Operations Department, Rapid Response Squad (RRS) Anti-vandalism Unit and the Special female squad to secure places of worship, recreational areas, and places with high concentration of People.
While felicitating with the public on the celebration of the crucifixion, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, he urged religious leaders, worshipers, and State residents to work with NSCDC and other security agencies to ensure a smooth celebration as adequate security measures have been put in place to ensure this.
Commandant Chikere further charged Christians to take advantage of the period to seek divine intervention in the nation’s affairs, and take a cue from the supreme sacrifice of Jesus Christ by eschewing all forms of political, social and religious violence and vices.
