Operatives of the Lagos Police Command on Friday invaded a hideout of kidnappers in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State and freed several victims.
According to the police, their men succeeded in overpowering the kidnappers after a gun duel on Thursday night.
It was gathered one of the criminals was killed during the gun battle.
Three kidnap victims were rescued, the police disclosed.
Benjamin Hundeyin, Spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, who confirmed the operation said arms and ammunition were recovered at the scene, adding that the victims were receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.
