The wife of the Governor of Cross River State, Rev. Mrs Eyoanwan Bassey Otu, has advised new graduates from the Nigerian Navy to see their achievement as a responsibility to make Cross River State and the Nigerian Navy proud.
She gave the advice when a group of new graduates from the Nigerian Navy paid her a courtesy visit in Calabar.
The first Lady who offered words of encouragement used the occasion to remind them of the responsibility they bear as part of the Nigerian Navy.
Listening to their personal stories and aspirations, Reverend Otu congratulated the new graduates on their major achievement, noting that they were many of them who enrolled into the academy, but some persons passed on, while some failed along the way.
“As you are here as graduands today against all odds, its the mercies of God and your hardwork.”
“It is a huge responsibility you now have as part of the Nigerian Navy,” she added “Please, do your best in keeping to all that you were taught, make Cross River State and the Nigerian Navy proud at your various places of assignment.”
In a heartfelt conversation, the new graduands expressed their profound gratitude for the support and guidance they received from the Nigerian Navy and the state government.
While they acknowledged the crucial role of their families and loved ones in their journey, reinforcing their determination to honour their nation and make their families proud, the team lead, OSSN Ikpete Gedoni, who described the wife of the Governor as a mother, said they felt honoured to see her and promised to make the state proud.
Truth Live News gathered that the courtesy visit served as a reminder of the invaluable contribution of the Nigerian Navy as a vital pillar of national security and demonstrated the commitment of the new graduates to uphold the highest standards of service.
