Niger State Governor, Mohamed Umaru Bago, has suspended three senior aides, including his Chief of Staff, Abdullahi Usman Gbatamagi; Director General of Protocol, Abdullahi Yerima, and his Chief Details.
The suspension, reportedly due to alleged incompetence, was announced during a State Council meeting at the Government House in Minna.
The affected aides had recently accompanied the Governor on official trips to Lagos and Abuja, making the suspension a surprise move.
Sources indicate that the suspension will last for one month.
The Governor has instructed the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Abubakar Usman, to issue formal suspension letters without delay.
No official statement has been released regarding the decision.
Governor Bago, who took office on May 29, 2023, has been working to address various challenges in Niger State, including water scarcity, education, and security.
