Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has strongly defended Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso against corruption allegations made by former Secretary to the State Government, Abdullahi Baffa Bichi.
Bichi’s claims, made in a viral video, alleged that the current administration had looted more public funds in two years than the previous administration under former Governor Abdullahi Ganduje did in eight years, and that Kwankwaso received N2 billion monthly from state coffers.
Governor Yusuf dismissed these allegations as baseless, unfounded, and deliberately misleading, questioning why Bichi didn’t speak out while still in office if he was truly honest.
The governor expressed disappointment at Bichi’s behavior, warning that it could encourage disrespect for authority figures and institutions, and vowed to take steps to put an end to such actions.
Governor Yusuf reaffirmed his loyalty to Kwankwaso, stating that wherever Kwankwaso goes, the administration will follow, proud of their choice with no regrets.
The governor also urged unity among elected officials and prioritization of community development projects in education, healthcare, and agriculture, emphasizing commitment to transparency and zero tolerance for corruption.
