The Northern Majority Alliance (NMA) has expressed deep appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing Dr. Cyril Tsenyil as the pioneer Managing Director of the newly established North Central Development Commission (NCDC), describing the move as a strategic step towards fostering equity, regional inclusion, and sustainable development across the nation.
In a statement made available to Truth Live News and jointly signed by its Coordinator, Comrade Ibrahim Bunu, and Publicity Secretary, Brain Lang, the group praised the President for not only recognizing the unique challenges of the North Central region but also for ensuring that every region in the country now has its own development commission to address long-standing infrastructural and socio-economic deficits.
“The establishment of the NCDC reflects President Tinubu’s unwavering commitment to justice, equity, and national cohesion,” the statement said. “From the NDDC to the NEDC and now the NCDC, this administration is giving all regions the institutional framework to drive their own development priorities. This is a bold and commendable legacy.”
The NMA further congratulated Dr. Cyril Tsenyil, noting his impeccable credentials and experience, including his service as the former Accountant General of Plateau State and his tenure at ANAN University. Describing him as “a round peg in a round hole,” the group expressed full confidence in his ability to deliver on the commission’s mandate.
According to Comrade Bunu, “Dr. Tsenyil has consistently demonstrated excellence, integrity, and patriotism. We are confident that under his leadership, the NCDC will tackle the developmental challenges facing the region head-on, especially in rural empowerment, youth development, and infrastructural renewal.”
During a recent courtesy visit by NMA leadership, Dr. Tsenyil pledged that youth-focused policies and empowerment programs will be central to his leadership. “Today’s youth are rich in ideas, innovation, and energy. They are the future, and I intend to actively involve them in shaping the commission’s direction,” he said. “We will maintain an open door for youth participation.”
In a veiled response to opposition groups attempting to stage protests in Abuja against the appointment, the NMA called for unity and maturity, urging stakeholders to avoid politicizing what is a well-thought-out and merit-based appointment.
“Opposition for opposition’s sake does not serve the North Central or Nigeria at large,” said Comrade Bunu. “We call on all well-meaning Nigerians to rally behind Dr. Tsenyil and the board, and to support this opportunity to correct decades of neglect in the region.”
The Northern Majority Alliance reiterated its total support for President Tinubu’s administration and the Renewed Hope Agenda, which it described as “a living reality” seen in the decentralization of development efforts, institutional reform, and a focus on equity and grassroots impact.
“No leader in recent times has shown such courage and fairness in balancing national development. President Tinubu has once again proven that he is not just the leader of a political party but the president of all Nigerians,” the statement concluded.
