Gov.  Otu Set To Open Wife’s Office, Marks Second Year With Scorecard Presentation

CALABAR, NIGERIA – The Cross River State Governor, Senator (Prince) Bassey Edet Otu, will mark his second year in office with key events.

According to the Ministry of Information, the celebration begun, May 28, with the commissioning of the Local Government Service Commission Complex.

On Thursday, May 29, the Governor will open his new office complex at 11:00 a.m., the statement revealed.

At 1:00 p.m. Thursday, the Governor’s Wife’s office will be commissioned, followed by a Town Hall at 2:00 p.m.

The Ministry’s Commissioner, Dr. Erasmus Ekpang, confirmed the updates in a statement released on May 27, 2025.

Dr. Ekpang said, “The Governor invites all key stakeholders in the state to participate in these commemorative events.”

He added, “This is a celebration of the Governor’s ‘People First’ vision and achievements in two years of service.”

Expected attendees include Deputy Governor Peter Odey, state lawmakers, judges, diplomats, civil servants, and civil society leaders.

Also invited are political party leaders, traditional rulers, youth groups, and representatives from organized labour and the private sector.

“The Governor values inclusive governance and transparent leadership,” the Ministry stated, emphasizing broad stakeholder participation.

The highlight will be the scorecard presentation by ministries and agencies at the Calabar International Conference Centre (CICC).

Stakeholders are expected to engage with government achievements and plans, as part of Governor Otu’s transparency agenda.

Cross River’s Ministry of Information released the full program to local media and online platforms on Tuesday.

The statement emphasized appreciation to residents and officials for their support of the administration’s developmental initiatives.
