Wydad AC and Al Ain have become the latest teams to be eliminated from the 2025 Club World Cup after losing their two opening Group G fixtures to Manchester City and Juventus.
The two teams suffered heavy defeats, with Wydad losing 2-0 to City and 4-1 to Juventus, while Al Ain were thrashed 5-0 by Juventus and 6-0 by City.
They join Ulsan HD, Auckland City, Los Angeles FC, Pachuca, and Urawa Red Diamonds, who were previously eliminated from the tournament.
The eliminated teams will now play for pride in their final group matches, with nothing to gain but a sense of satisfaction from a good performance.
The competition is heating up, with the top teams battling it out for a chance to lift the trophy.
