Fellow Edo, PDP Members,

Today we find ourselves at a difficult juncture following the Supreme Court verdict that did not favour our candidate, Dr Asue Ighodalo and of course our party, the PDP.

While the outcome is painful and deeply disappointing, we must remember that our fight is far from over. True democrats do not retreat in the face of injustice, they reorganize and return stronger.

This is not the time for lamentation. It is time for clarity, courage, and action.

We must now shift focus from legal battles to strategic positioning. The place to start is clear: we must unite across the state, across party lines, and across interests to defeat the APC and Bola Tinubu’s corrupt regime in the 2027 general elections.

Defeating Tinubu in 2027 is not optional,  it is essential to restoring integrity, accountability, and hope to this country.

His regime has deepened poverty, institutionalized corruption, and weakened national unity. We must come together to dismantle every structure that enables this misrule

In this light, early alignment with strategic partners like the ADC, particularly in the North, must begin now, not tomorrow. Waiting until 2026 will be too late. We must lead from the front, take centre stage, and force them to recognize our relevance and respect our strength.

Let us organize at the grassroots, reenergize our base, and build a coalition that can command national support.

Our party must be more than just a platform, it must be a movement with a clear mission and discipline.

Let no one be in doubt: Edo PDP will rise again, and with the right alliances, we will play a decisive role in ending APC’s grip on Nigeria in 2027.

The road ahead is tough, but we are tougher.

Forward ever, backward never.

Signed
Deacon Darlington Okpebholo Ray, MSc, CIPD.
