Following the order of President Bola Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima has landed in London alongside Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, ready to bring the body of late former President Buhari back to Nigeria.
They were received on arrival by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Yusuf Tuggar, and the Governor of Borno State, Babagana Umara Zulum.
Vice President Shettima confirmed this via a post on his verified social media handles.
“Early this morning, I arrived in London in the company of the Chief of Staff to the President, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, on the directive of my boss, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, following the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari.
“I was received on arrival by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Yusuf Tuggar, and the Governor of Borno State, Babagana Umara Zulum.
“I will accompany the remains of the former President to Nigeria for burial in Daura, Katsina State.
“The former leader died in London after a prolonged illness”.
