Katsina Community Watch Corps (C-Watch) have arrested the Village Head of Sukutum in Kankia Local Government Area of Katsina State for allegedly serving as an informant to armed bandits.
The suspect, whose name has not yet been released, was apprehended following intelligence reports linking him to criminal gangs operating in the area.
According to security sources, the village head was accused of providing information to the bandits about the movement of security personnel and vulnerable communities, enabling them to launch attacks.
The sources also alleged that he frequently visited the bandits in their hideouts to maintain contact and coordinate activities.
Authorities said the suspect is in custody and undergoing further investigation to determine the extent of his involvement and to identify other possible collaborators.
