The presidency no longer trusts Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji due to his predecessor Kayode Fayemi’s alleged alliance with the African Democratic Congress (ADC), according to Isaac Fayose, brother to former Ekiti Governor Ayo Fayose.

According to him, the presidency summoned Oyebanji to Aso Rock, where they shared their concerns.

This stems from comments made by former Transportation Minister, Rotimi Amaechi, who said he formed ADC together with Fayemi.

It led to the presidency getting worried that Oyebanji could defect to the ADC if he wins re-election in 2026.

During the meeting, Oyebanji was asked to sack all the Commissioners who were loyal to Fayemi, a directive he eventually carried out when he returned to Ekiti.

According to Fayose, the presidency have also informed Oyebanji that there will be primary elections in the All Progressive Congress, APC, which means the incumbent might not have a free run next year.

“So you see now, if we no fit catch you, presidency fit catch,” Fayose mocked Oyebanji.

“Presidency cannot trust you because your oga has one leg in ADC and the other in APC.”
