Senator Roland Owie, Senator Ehigie Uzamere, Senator Neda Imasuen and many other leaders of Benin extractions, have called on the Benin speaking people to be more united and pursue a common goal that will engender development in the region.

They made the call at the maiden edition of the Benin Unity Summit held in Benin.

Speaking at the Summit, Roland Owie said the good moral values that the Benin nation are known for must be promoted in all its ramifications in order to build a prosperous nation.

He urged the women to always keep praying to God on behalf of the Benin nation because their prayers are usually answered due to how committed they are to God.

The former senator further called on the sons and daughters of the Edo south senatorial district to reawaken the values of honesty and love which they were once known for.

For the former senator representing the Edo South senatorial district, Senator Ehigie Uzamere, he appealed to the sons and daughters of the senatorial district to shun jealousy, hatred and work in harmony for the interest of the Benin nation.

He further cautioned the sons and daughters of the senatorial district to desist from casting aspersions on the royal throne, the Oba of Benin and the traditional institution on the social media.

He said the monarch is the symbol of respect and dignity of the Benin nation and must be respected and treated as such.

For the senator representing the Edo South senatorial district, Senator Neda Imasuen, he said the problem militating against the Benin nation is that nobody wants to pay the sacrifice but everyone wants to be a leader.

He said such can’t bring about upliftment to the Benin nation.

Imasuen urged members of the forum to forget the past, forgive and learn to speak with one voice adding that, that is the only way they can be respected among the comity of states.

Also speaking, Dickson Imasogie said that all hands must be on deck to promote the Benin nation by all standards noting that on his part, he has 24 children but none of them has an English name.

He added that, that is part of his contribution besides every other aspects.

On the part of the covener, Earl Osaro Enaiwu, he said the group is not political and should not be used to feather political interest rather it should be used to foster love, unity and progress of the Edo south.

He lamented that the various local governments that make up the Edo south senatorial district have been abandoned by the inhabitants who now find themselves in the city, making it to be overcrowded to the detriment of those local governments which should be developed.
