Suspected Lakurawa terrorists have brutally killed a 45-year-old woman, Mai-Kudi Danginjo, accused of witchcraft in Tummunna village, Gidan-Madi area of Sokoto State.

According to Zagazola Makama, the horrific incident unfolded on Saturday when a large group of bandits stormed the village and abducted Danginjo and returned on Sunday morning, dumping her lifeless body in the village.

“The attackers returned to the village on Sunday morning and dumped her lifeless body,” a source confirmed.

Troops from Operation FANSAN YANMA were swiftly mobilized to the area following the incident, launching a manhunt for the perpetrators. “Efforts were ongoing to track down and arrest the perpetrators,” the source added.

The killing has sparked outrage and fear in Tummunna, where accusations of witchcraft often exacerbate local tensions, sometimes leading to violent reprisals.

The Lakurawa terrorists, known for their ruthless attacks in northwest Nigeria, have further destabilized the region with such acts of terror.

As security forces intensify efforts to apprehend the perpetrators, they have also urged the community to cooperate and provide intelligence that could lead to the arrest of the terrorists and prevent further tragedies.
