Minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike expresses condolences to Arise News over the death of their news anchor, vows to apprehend the killers, according to FCTA Somtochukwu was brought to Maitama General Hospital dead at around 4:30 AM on Monday.
The FCT, Nyesom Wike, has expressed condolences to the Arise News Channel’s management and staff following the passing of their News Anchor, Somtochukwu Maduagwu. He described her passing as both tragic and deeply saddening.
In a statement released on Tuesday by Lere Olayinka, the Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, the FCT Minister expressed his condolences for the passing of Somtochukwu. He assured that the police will thoroughly investigate the circumstances of her death and ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.
He expressed that Somtochukwu’s passing was a significant loss not just for the Arise News team, but also for the Nigerian media industry and the country as a whole.
According to Dr. Dolapo Fasawe, the Mandate Secretary for Health with the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), Somtochukwu was already deceased when brought to Maitama General Hospital at approximately 4:30 a.m. on Monday.
