Cross River To Host Nigeria’s 65th Independence Day Parade In Calabar

NIGERIA, CALABAR – The Cross River State Government has announced that activities marking Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary will hold as scheduled in Calabar on Wednesday, October 1, 2025.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Commissioner for Information, Dr. Erasmus Ekpang, said the ceremonial parade by the Nigeria Police Force will take place at the main bowl of U. J. Esuene Stadium, Calabar.

Ekpang urged residents, visitors, and invited guests to be seated at the venue by 10:00 a.m. for what he described as a “historic national event.”

“The state government wishes to inform all Cross Riverians and indeed all Nigerians residing and doing business in Cross River that all activities commemorating Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary will hold as planned,” the statement read.

He extended his felicitations to Nigerians on the milestone celebration, adding: “Happy 65th Independence Anniversary, Nigeria.”

The commissioner assured members of the public of adequate arrangements for the event and encouraged wide participation.
