The Uromi Like Minds Initiatives (ULMI) 5th Edition Secondary School Football Tournament continued its thrilling run into match day three, with Ebhoiyi Secondary School’s female squad and Agba Grammar School’s boys’ team delivering standout performances at the Uromi Township Stadium.

Building on the penalty drama that marked day two, today’s fixtures showcased clinical finishing and defensive resilience, further igniting the spirit of sportsmanship among Edo’s young athletes.

In the morning’s female category opener, Ebhoiyi Secondary School faced off against Let It Shine Secondary School in a hard-fought battle that ended with a narrow 1-0 victory for Ebhoiyi.

The lone goal came from a well-executed counter-attack in the second half, rewarding Ebhoiyi’s persistent pressure and solid backline that frustrated their opponents’ attempts to equalize.

The afternoon’s male category clash was an even more decisive affair, as Agba Grammar School dismantled Balm of Gilead Secondary School with a commanding 4-0 rout.

Agba’s forwards were relentless, spelling out dominance capitalizing on defensive lapses from their shell-shocked rivals.

The performance evoked echoes of classic underdog triumphs, showing Agba Grammar’s attacking prowess and midfield control.

These results follow yesterday’s edge-of-your-seat penalty shootouts, where Esan Model School dominated both categories: their girls’ team edging Buddy Female 5-4 after a 0-0 draw, and the boys securing a 4-2 win over Unique High School in another stalemate.

With the tournament now in full swing, ULMI’s commitment to fostering unity and discipline shines through – an organization celebrated for its broader impacts.

As the competition heats up, Uromi’s youth continue to unite under the floodlights, channeling passion into every tackle and cheer and the efforts in building tomorrow’s leaders through the beautiful game.
Stay tuned for more action, highlights, and updates from the ULMI 5th Edition – where every goal tells a story of grit and glory.
