US rapper Nicki Minaj has spoken out about the plight of Christians in Nigeria, saying they are “being targeted, driven from their homes, and killed.” She made the remarks during a visit to the United Nations headquarters on Tuesday.

Truthlivenews gathered that Minaj was invited by Mike Waltz, the US ambassador to the UN, to discuss the US administration’s efforts to protect religious freedoms worldwide. She thanked former President Donald Trump for prioritising the issue and pushing for international action to defend Christians in Nigeria and combat extremism.

Addressing the UN audience, Minaj described how Christian communities in parts of Nigeria have been forced to flee their homes, with churches destroyed and families torn apart. She warned that faith is under attack in too many parts of the world.

“We don’t have to share the same beliefs to respect each other. No one should feel unsafe because of their faith,” she said. “In Nigeria, Christians are being targeted, driven from their homes, and killed. Churches have been burned, families have been torn apart, and entire communities live in fear constantly simply because of how they pray.”

Minaj emphasised that protecting religious communities is not about taking sides, but about defending human rights. She urged global solidarity to ensure everyone can worship freely and live in peace.

“When one’s church, mosque, or place of worship is destroyed, everyone’s heart should break just a little bit,” she said. “I hope this discussion encourages urgent action to ensure every person can enjoy the right to believe and live safely.”

Her remarks come amid ongoing concerns over religious violence in Nigeria, where attacks on Christian communities by armed groups have been widely reported.
