One of the leading international airlines, Delta Airline, which usually convey passengers to and fro the United States of America, has announced the suspension of it’s flights from New York-JFK to Lagos Nigeria.
The airline made the announcement in a statement released on August 30th, noting that the suspension is to take effect from October 4, 2022.
The statement further added that the route suspension is necessary so as to fit into “the current demand environment”. It however stressed that the airline will continue to operate its Lagos and Atlanta routes.
The statement read in part:
“Delta is suspending it’s non-stop service between New York-JFK and Lagos route to fit the current demand environment. The airline continues to operate service between Lagos and Atlanta and offers onwards connections to New York and other cities across the United States.
“Customers impacted by our suspended New York-JFK to Lagos service will be re-accomodated on Delta operated flights, or services operated by our joint venture partners. Delta remains committed to the Nigerian markets.”
