Situation is getting more terrible for the embattled national chairman of the main opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Sen Iyorchia Ayu as National Working Committee Members from the southern part of Nigeria walked out on him during a meeting today, Wednesday.
The development in Abuja came just hours after 17 PDP governorship aspirants appeared to have mediated a peace deal between Atiku Abubakar and Nyesom Wike in Port-Harcourt, 650 kilometers away, on Tuesday night.
Taofeek Arapaja, the deputy national chairman, led the NWC’s Southern members.
With the walkout of the Southern officials on Ayu, the PDP NWC meeting, which appeared to be missing a quorum, came to an end.
