CAFCC: Kwara United Returns, Resumes Training Against Moroccan Champions

Victorious Kwara United Football Club appears to have set their minds against the next challenge in the CAF Champions Cup, CAFCC, continental tournament after returning from Niamey, Niger, were they engaged AS Douanes in goaless draw in their second leg encounter.

 

The two leg match was part of the Preliminary Rounds of the 2022/2023 TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup which the Kwara team won by 3.0 aggregate.

 

The team qualified on three goals aggregate, as they defeated the Niamey-based team 3-0 in the first leg at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos.

 

The Air Cote-D’Ivoire Airbus A319 plane boarded by the team touched down at about 11.05pm yesterday, Monday September 19, 2022.

 

The team is expected to return to Ilorin today, and start reparations ahead of their crucial First Round match against Cup holders and Champion of Champions, RSB Berkane of Morocco.

 

According to the programme drawn by the technical crew, the team will play some friendly matches in Ilorin and Ijebu-Ode, before returning to Lagos for the first leg match fixed for October 9th.

 

Club Chairman, Kumbi Titiloye expressed delight with the qualification, even as he said that preparations has began for the RSB Berkane challenge.

 

Titiloye commended the State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his support to the team. He also praised the Sports Commission, Kwara FA, Supporters and Fans, SWAN and other stakeholders for their support and sacrifice.

 

He pledged that the team will turn out good against the dreaded Moroccan team, and pick a ticket for the Group Stage of the competition.
