Again, PDP Gains As Over 300 APC Members Dumped Party In Owan West

Again, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has continued to sweep Owan West Local Government Area of Edo State like an hurricane, harvesting over three hundred members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the local government to itself in a day and leaving the APC as a party in limbo.

The decampees were received into the the fold at a stakeholders’ meeting, of the party.

The Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Blessing Agbebaku, while addressing and receiving the decampees into the party, thanked the decampees for throwing their weight behind the PDP.

“the PDP will win the September 2024 election, considering the level of support, popularity and acceptance of PDP by Edo people as a development-driven party.

“All hands must be on deck to attain victory.

“By His grace, Asue/Ogie will be declared winner come September.

“Let me assure you that Owan West and other parts of Edo North are already covered”, Agbebaku said.

On his part, the Council Boss in the LGA, Hon. Dickson Ahonsi, while canvassing support for the Asue/Ogie’s ticket, expressed gratitude to the PDP stakeholders for for making the task ahead easy.

The Council Boss said, “the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Agbebaku is doing very well. He is always at home every weekend to meet with the people and attend to matters of the party.

He has been a great pillar in our LGA.

“We will continue to support our leaders in the LGA in anyway we can in order to meet up with a high level of electoral success.”

The Speaker received various groups of decampees into the party, on behalf of the State and LGA PDP chairmen, Hon. (Dr. ) Anthony Aziegbemi and Engr. David Okoh-Aigbodion, respectively.

The groups’ spokespersons, Adamu Nusa (Ward 2 Uhonmora-Ora); Sanni Festus (ward 9 Uzebba); Engr Ehiwere Ehis (Ward 1 Ozalla); Barr. Elabor Joe Agbebaku (ward 2 Uhonmora-Ora); the Kogi Group resident in Owan West and the Arewa community in Sabongidda-Ora, all declared support for the PDP candidate.

Some of the prominent leaders present were: Chief Solomon Amu, Dr. O.D Ejere, Obaze Osumah, Mrs. Eunice Ehimigbai; Barr George Eneraba, Owan West Vice Chairman, Hon. Victoria Asije; Hon. Ogbeta Sunday, Elder Festus Ohiwerei, Barr. Alex Oleije; Hon. Mrs Inumidun Taiwo; Hon. Fred Ohioma Ohiorenuan; Mr. Oliver Erhayamen, Hon. Ejoor Odekhiran; Chief Godwin Uankhurche; Chief David George; Comr Samson Ojeawere, Councillors, Supervisors, SSAs, SAs and a host of other leaders.
