Nigeria’s Senate President, Godswill Obot Akpabio, ignored children from three schools in Abuja who came to celebrate and honour him on International Children’s Day.
The children, from Our Lady of Fatima Sisters Academy, Catherina International Academy, and Lead British International School, had gathered at the parliament to observe the occasion and receive words of encouragement from the Senate President.
Akpabio walked past the children without a courtesy, despite their three-hour wait, leaving them disappointed and demoralized.
A female teacher expressed disappointment, noting that the Senate President’s absence could discourage the children, some of whom couldn’t even identify him.
