UYO, NIGERIA – Senator John James Akpan Udo-Edehe has pledged a new era of inclusive governance and economic rescue for Akwa Ibom State under the African Democratic Congress (ADC), ahead of the 2027 elections.

Born November 9,1963,  Udo-Edehe is a Nigerian politician who served from 1999 to 2003 as a senator for the Akwa Ibom North East Senatorial district.

Speaking at the ADC unveiling in Abuja, udoedehe said the party offers a “platform of great minds committed to real change,” and aims to steer the nation away from recycled political leadership.

He assured Akwa Ibomites that the ADC’s strategic 35+35 percent structure guarantees active participation of women, youths, and persons with disabilities in governance and decision-making at all levels.

“The ADC is not a one-man show,” the former minister stated. “It accommodates every size and shape of opinion to end insecurity, poverty, and hunger,” particularly in Akwa Ibom and across Nigeria.

He promised that, under ADC, inflation would be tackled, economic survival wouldn’t rely on palliatives, and citizens would enjoy sustainable policies that prioritize fairness and development.

Akpanudoedehe urged citizens to “pitch their tent with the ADC,” describing it as a rescue mission to redeem Akwa Ibom from political stagnation and reconnect the people to accountable governance.

Referencing his past leadership in forming the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), he argued that forward-thinking ideas often face early ridicule but later become transformative forces.

He also committed to building a reliable political coalition that “does not prioritize region or religion,” stressing that the focus will remain on rescuing Nigeria and Akwa Ibom in particular.

“Let us visit our communities and register for this national coalition,” he appealed, promising to unify farmers, mechanics, academics, and citizens in the diaspora around shared solutions.

Akpanudoedehe concluded by reaffirming his belief that the ADC will restore dignity to citizens and deliver a future where no Nigerian is left behind in national development.
