Arsenal has threatened to walk away from negotiations to sign Viktor Gyokeres after Sporting CP increased the asking price for the striker, according to record.

Gyokeres is attracting interest from top European clubs, having scored 67 times in 52 games for Sporting CP.

Arsenal initially offered around €70 million for Gyokeres, but Sporting CP has turned down the offer, demanding a higher fee.

The Gunners are ready to “freeze” their interest in Gyokeres and turn away from the deal if Sporting CP continues to make inflated demands.

Arsenal believes it has cheaper options in Benjamin Sesko and Ollie Watkins.
