The Egyptian authorities on Tuesday arrested Tukur Mamu who was lead negotiator with bandits in the kidnap of Kaduna train passengers.
Mamu who is also the spokesperson of controversial islamic cleric, Sheikh Gumi was arrested and detained by Interpol at the Cairo International Airport while awaiting a connecting flight to Saudi Arabia.
Truthlive.net gathered that he was on his way to perform lesser Hajj before his arrest by Interpol.
Since the abduction of scores during the March 2022 Kaduna Train attack, Mamu had interfaced between the bandits and the government to secure the release of several of the kidnapped Victims.
It was gathered that he (Mamu) was flown back to Nigeria on Wednesday morning by Interpol after he was interrogated and nothing was found incriminating against him.
Also arrested were his two wives and one other persons who accompanied him on the journey.
He is expected to arrive at Aminu Kano International Airport in Kano Wednesday afternoon and may be interrogated further by officials of Nigerian secret police, Department of State Security (DSS).
Meanwhile, Mr Mamu told the federal government that he was withdrawing as the lead negotiator in securing the release of the hostages of the Abuja-Kaduna train attack over alleged threat to his life by the Nigerian government.
Recall that scores of passengers were abducted by terrorists who attacked a a Kaduna bound train in march.
Several of the victims are yet to be released by the terrorists who are demanding millions of ransom.
