Parents in Bashe Ward, Ningi Local Government Area of Bauchi State, are withdrawing their children from Kafin Lemon Primary School due to the school’s deplorable learning conditions.
A report by Tracka, a civic monitoring group, revealed that the school lacks basic infrastructure, including roofs, doors, and adequate furniture.
The school’s condition has forced many parents to send their children to work on farms instead of attending school.
Those who remain are unable to receive quality education due to the lack of resources and infrastructure.
Despite a renovation attempt by the Bauchi State Government in 2023, the school’s roofs were blown off due to substandard construction.
Tracka has called on Governor Bala Mohammed, Bauchi SUBEB, UBEC Nigeria, and the Federal Ministry of Education to address the crisis urgently.
The organization emphasized the need for durable classrooms and learning materials to restore education in Bashe Ward.
As Tracka noted, “The future of these children hangs in the balance.
“Will the government act before it’s too late?” The situation highlights the need for immediate attention to ensure that children in Bauchi State receive a quality education.
