South Africa coach, Hugo Broos is currently bankiy on the Super Eagles to beat Group C leaders Benin so that his team could qualify for the 2026 World Cup.
Truth Live News Media reports that Bafana Bafana of South Africa are second in the standings with 15 points, two points behind Benin with a round of matches to be played Tuesday.
South Africa is home to fourth-placed Rwanda on the final day of action, while Benin face a difficult away tie in Uyo where it lost 3-0 in September 2024 in a 2025 AFCON qualifier.
Benin will qualify for its first-ever World Cup with a win against the Super Eagls in Uyo.
South Africa only needs to defeat Rwanda and the Super Eagles do same against Benin for Bafana Bafana to qualify for the World Cup after 24 years.
“It’s a good thing for us that Nigeria still have a chance and has to win against Benin in the last game.
“We must beat Rwanda and see. Maybe Benin will lose in Nigeria”, Hugo Broos said
