A chieftain of the People Democratic Party, Bode George emphasizes that Nyesom Wike doesn’t own the party, stressing that PDP is not like APC, which he claims is controlled by one individual.
The PDP chieftain stated this while fielding questions on Arise Television’s Morning Show programme on Thursday.
“Nyesom Wike does not own the PDP; he joined the party just like everybody else did,” George stated, adding that those working against the party will face decisive action at the upcoming National Executive Council (NEC) meeting.
George warns that the NEC meeting, scheduled for June 30, 2025, will deal with members undermining the party, including those cozying up to opposition parties.
“If you think it’s only because of his money that he remains a member of the party, wait until the NEC meeting where decisive actions will be taken on all those who have committed a ‘hara-kiri,'” George said.
The statement comes amid confusion within PDP regarding its 100th NEC meeting scheduled for Monday, June 30, 2025.
The National Working Committee, NWC, of the PDP had dismissed claims that the NEC meeting was postponed.
It also denied reports of Senator Samuel Anyanwu’s potential reinstatement as National Secretary, following a press briefing on Wednesday by the Acting National Chairman, Ambassador Umar Damagum.
