The Ibadan office of Fresh FM, a popular radio station founded by gospel singer Yinka Ayefele, has been engulfed in flames. The fire reportedly started late Friday evening, causing panic among staff and residents in the Challenge area of Ibadan, Oyo State.
Eyewitnesses said thick smoke was seen billowing from the building as workers and good Samaritans struggled to salvage equipment before emergency responders arrived. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined, but officials of the Oyo State Fire Service are already on the ground battling to contain the blaze.
As at the time of filing this report, no casualties have been confirmed, but the extent of damage to the multi-million naira broadcasting facility is said to be severe. Fresh FM, known for its wide listenership across South-West Nigeria, has not released an official statement.
