The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Yakubu Mahmood has announced the All Progressive Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the winner of the 2023 presidential elections.

The INEC Chairman announced the former Lagos Governor’s victory, minutes past 4am on Wednesday at the National Collation Centre in Abuja, a hall packed full of journalists, party agents and observers.

The former Lagos governor polled a significant number of 8,794,726 after winning 12 states with over 1.8 million votes ahead of his closest rival, Atiku Abubakar.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar came second after pulling 6,984,520 votes in 12 states but was far behind winner.

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi who is the man of the moment, whose unstructured structure shocked many Nigerians and political elite came third pulling a surprising votes of 6,101,687 bg winning 11 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) presidential candidate, Mallam Rabiu Kwankwaso came a distant fourth with a total votes of 1,496,687 winning only Kano State.
