A former Senator representing Edo North Senatorial District and leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State, Sen Yisa Braimoh has alleged that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is bound to fail for having their choice of gubernatorial candidate from the Central.
He said that the choice of Asue as the PDP standard bearer for the September governorship election is logical, sound, and exciting, pointing out that he meets all the requirements for good and effective leadership, with very intimidating credentials, uncommon Street Credibility and unprecedented popularity.
He said Asue Ighodalo is clearly the best out of all the parties candidates vying for election come September 21, 2024.
Sen Braimoh holds the distinction of being the first Owan Clan indigene to represent the Edo North Senatorial district in the Senate.
Alongside other notable PDP leaders in the district, Sen. Braimoh’s statements reflect the collective views of the group.
Senator Braimoh made the statement separately at the headquarters of the six local governments in Edo North district during the inauguration of campaign committees across the district.
Braimoh is confident that based on the outgoing governor’s commendable performance and Ighodalo’s pedigree as a suitable successor, the PDP will secure the governorship slot in September.
He further said it was the resolve of the party and the people of Edo North district to support the zoning of Edo state governorship seat to Edo central and also work in unison to deliver the party’s flag bearer.
Recall that the enlarged PDP Edo north leaders were the first Senatorial district in the state to have supported the zoning of the state governorship seat to Edo central in the spirit of fairness, equity and justice.
