Behind Closed Doors: What Cross River’s Leaders Discussed On Security

NIGERIA, CALABAR – Cross River State Acting Governor, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to security collaboration as he welcomed the newly deployed Commissioner of Police, CP Olusegun Eyitayo Omosanyin, to Calabar on Friday, March 28, 2025.

During the meeting at the Glass House, the acting governor assured the new commissioner of the state’s dedication to working with law enforcement agencies to combat crime and maintain Cross River’s reputation as one of Nigeria’s safest states.

“The government remains steadfast in its commitment to ensuring the security of lives and property.”

“We will continue to work closely with the police and other security agencies to sustain peace in the state,” Odey stated, according to a release by his Chief Press Secretary, Fred Abua Esq.

CP Omosanyin, who becomes the 47th Commissioner of Police in Cross River State, described the visit as a key priority upon assuming office.

He emphasized the need for cooperation between law enforcement and the state government to enhance security efforts.

“My administration will foster a close working relationship with the government to create a safe and conducive environment for all residents,” Omosanyin assured.

The meeting underscored the shared commitment between the state government and the police command to tackle security challenges and uphold law and order.
