The Federal Government has assured that defection to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) will not stop corruption cases against governors and other political office holders.

The Attorney-General of the Federation, Prince Lateef Fagbemi, SAN, stressed that the President Bola Tinubu-led administration will continue to uphold the rule of law and fight against corruption, regardless of whose ox is gored.

Fagbemi refuted claims by Atiku Abubakar’s aide, Paul Ibe, that the EFCC and Solicitor General met with former and incumbent governors 48 hours before their defection to APC.

The AGF described the allegation as contemptuous and a figment of imagination, urging the public to disregard the insinuation.
