The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors Forum has hailed the party’s sweeping victory in the Osun State local government elections, describing it as a strong endorsement of Governor Ademola Adeleke’s leadership.
In the election held on Saturday, the PDP won all 30 local government areas in the state.
In a statement on Sunday, the Director General of the PDP Governors Forum, Dr. Emmanuel Agbo, congratulated Governor Adeleke and the people of Osun on what he called a transparent and credible electoral process.
“The outcome of this election affirms that power resides with the people,” the statement read, adding that Osun residents had demonstrated their trust in the PDP-led government’s governance and developmental initiatives.
The Forum commended the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSIEC) for conducting a fair and transparent election, emphasizing that the people’s voices had been respected.
The governors praised Adeleke’s administration for its transformation projects, youth and women empowerment programs, and grassroots development efforts. They expressed confidence that the newly elected local government leaders would align with the governor’s vision and deliver democratic dividends to their communities.
The statement urged the new officials to promote peace and unity across Osun State.
“Governor Adeleke must ensure that the chairmen and councillors entrench a culture of tolerance to sustain the current unity in the state,” the Forum added.
The PDP Governors Forum also called on party supporters nationwide to remain committed to democratic values, stating that the Osun election results reflect the PDP’s credibility and popularity in governance.
