Operatives of the Ebonyi State Police Command have arrested three persons for allegedly killing a youth leader, Udu Nnachi Uzor in Ekoli Edda, Edda Local Government Area of the state.
Recall that the community was enmeshed in crisis last month, leading to the killings of persons in the area including the youth leader and destruction of property worth millions of naira.
Some of the suspects were arrested in Abia State on transport vehicles while trying to run away from the community.
The state Commissioner of Police, Adaku Uche-Anya confirmed their arrest to journalists at the command headquarters, Abakaliki.
Uche-Anya said the suspects would be arraigned after investigation.
According to her, “Following the Ekoli Edda crisis which led to the murder of one Udu Nnachi on 09/07/2025. Painstaking investigation by operatives of the command attached to SWAT led to the arrest of the following persons; Amarachi Ude, Idika Ama Okoro, Sunday Ama Olughu, suspects will be arraigned upon conclusion of investigation”,
