Edo Governor Appoints New Governing Council for Edo State Polytechnic

The Edo State Government has announced the appointment of a new Governing Council for Edo State Polytechnic, Usen, as part of efforts to strengthen governance and improve academic standards across tertiary institutions in the state.

In a statement signed and Issued on Wednesday, the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, said the appointments were approved by Governor Monday Okpebholo.

The newly appointed members include Hon. Samuel Oboh as Chairman, and Dr. Abdul Wasiu Oyakire, Isibor Philips Isa Oseremen, Igbinadolor Patience Osamede, Louis Amienwan Okojie, and Dr. Anthony Oyase Atogwe as members.

According to the statement, the governor’s decision aligns with his administration’s commitment to reinforcing governance structures across higher institutions to ensure academic excellence, effective administration, and the realization of the SHINE Agenda in the education sector.

Ikhilor added that the new council is expected to bring experience and professionalism to reposition Edo State Polytechnic, Usen, as a hub for innovation, technical advancement, and skill development.

The appointments take immediate effect.
