A 75-year-old female pilgrim from Edo, Mrs. Adizatu Dazumi, has died during the ongoing 2025 Hajj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia after a brief illness.
The late pilgrim passed away on Monday at the King Fahad General Hospital, Makkah, where she was admitted after falling ill following the Tawaaf ritual around the Kaaba.
Malam Musah Uduimoh, Chairman of the Edo State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, confirmed the incident and expressed condolences to the family.
The pilgrim was buried in Makkah on the same day she passed away, in line with Islamic tradition, and her family in Jattu Uzairue has been informed.
The board chairman reassured other pilgrims that the welfare board remains committed to safeguarding their health and welfare.
