The Edo State Police Command has successfully trained 160 personnel in combat operations to boost their capacity to tackle crime in the state.
Commissioner of Police Betty Enekpen Otimenyin disclosed this during the closing ceremony of the training, which was conducted in two batches.
The training was part of the commissioner’s commitment to ridding the state of crime, and it covered various areas, including:

– Ambush and Counter-Ambush: Tactics on how to respond to and counter ambush attacks.
– Musketry: Training on the use of firearms and musketry techniques.
– Combat Craft: Instruction on combat tactics and strategies.
– Tactical Retrogression Movement: Training on how to execute tactical withdrawals and repositioning.
– Search and Rescue: Techniques on how to conduct search and rescue operations.
Commissioner Otimenyin charged the personnel to remain vigilant and courageous in responding to security breaches while upholding high professional standards.
She reassured the public of the command’s readiness to deliver improved, effective, and efficient service under her watch.
