Edo State Govt To Screen LGA Pensioners For Gratuity Payments

The Edo State Government has scheduled to commence screening of pensioners on the payroll of the Local Government Staff Pension Board who retired in 2011.

In a statement sent to Truth Live News, the Acting Secretary, Local Government Staff Pension Board, Mrs. Mary Omon Arewa, said the screening exercise will enable the State Government to screen and pay gratuity to pensioners on the payroll of the Local Government Staff Pension Board who retired in 2011.

She said, “Following the approval of His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Edo state, Mr. Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki and the directive by the Commissioner for the Ministry of Local Government, Community and Chieftaincy Affairs, Honorable Monday E.O. Osaigbovo to screen and pay gratuity to pensioners on the payroll of the Local Government Staff Pension Board who retired in 2011.

“The affected pensioners are invited for a screening exercise scheduled to be held from Monday 21st October to Friday, 25th October, 2024 at 8am – 4pm daily in the Local Government Staff Pension Board, Pension House, Kings Square, Benin City.”

She noted that the pensioners are requested to present the following documents during the screening exercise: “Letter of Appointment, Pensioner Biometrics, Pension Identity Card and Pay Advice.

The Acting Secretary advised the pensioners to “endeavour to be present and punctual” at the screening exercise.
