Arsenal defeated Brentford 1-0 at the Gtech Community Stadium thanks to a header from Kai Havertz in the 89th minute, catapulting them to the top of the Premier League.

Havertz joined the game as a late substitute and headed in a cross from Bukayo Saka after Arsenal had played a somewhat lackluster game.

Aaron Ramsdale, who was making his first Premier League appearance for Arsenal since the beginning of September, had been under pressure.

Ramsdale had a few nervous moments as Declan Rice made a fantastic save off the line to save Yoane Wissa from scoring after Ramsdale gave the ball away near his goal early on. David Raya was unavailable to play against his parent club.
