Former Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey, 32, has been granted conditional bail after appearing at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on August 5, 2025, facing five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault involving three women and alleged incidents from 2021-2022.
Partey, who denies all allegations, appeared at the court confirming his understanding of bail conditions, which include no contact with the complainants and notifying police of address or travel changes as his nexr court appearing is September 2 at the Old Bailey.
The Ghanaian international’s lawyer, Jenny Wiltshire, stated, “Thomas Partey denies all the charges against him. He has fully cooperated with the police and CPS throughout their three-year investigation. He now welcomes the opportunity to finally clear his name.” The charges, announced four days after Partey’s Arsenal contract expired in June 2025, have fueled criticism of the club’s decision to let him play during the investigation. Campaigners, including Arsenal Supporters Against Sexual Violence, protested outside the court, holding signs condemning Arsenal’s handling of the case.
