Details of the peace meeting held in London on Thursday between the Presidential candidate of Nigeria’s main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party, the PDP, Mr. Atiku Abubakar, and the Rivers State Barr. Nyesom Wike has been revealed.
Truthlive.net gathered in London that about six key demands were tabled before the former vice president who was eager and willing to stem the tide of the imbroglio which was becoming protracted even as the campaigns are commencing in a few days.
Governors Nyesom Wike, Seyi Makinde, Ikpeazu Okezie, and Samuel Ortom, as well as Senator Olaka all, negotiated on one side, while the Governor of Atiku`s state of Adamawa, Mr. Umaru Fintiri accompanied the PDP presidential candidate to the negotiation table.
Our correspondent was reliably informed that six key demands were raised by Team Wike, with the replacement of the national chairman topping the list of demands.
Other conditions brought by Wike and his team for Atiku Abubakar to meet for them to work harmoniously with Atiku included Wike to have an input in the campaign organisation of Atiku, Atiku must agree to serve one term of 4 years, and allow power to shift to the south, as Atiku will be over 80 after four years in office. Wike to be given three major ministries to supervise and decide who the ministers would be. (petroleum, Works, Transportation)
The demands also include, that all the appointments made so far by Atiku so far for his campaign will be reviewed and lastly the replacement of the vice presidential candidate, Gov Okowa of Delta State.
Our source who was privy to the negotiation informed us that Atiku Abubakar has agreed to all but promised to consult some party stakeholders and revert on the demand to replace his running mate, but Wike insisted that everything will be written down and signed.
Recall that Truthlive.net had reported the meeting of Atiku Abubakar on Thursday where he had dinner with Gov Wike and his friends, and also the meeting with the Team Wike with for former President Olusegun Obasanjo and the candidate of Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi
