Three serving Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Senators from Kebbi state are on the verge of defecting to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) following a strategic meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa earlier today.

The senators—Adamu Aliero (Kebbi Central), Yahaya Abubakar Abdullahi (Kebbi North), and Garba Maidoki (Kebbi South)—held a closed-door session with the President, which insiders described as “cordial and conclusive.”

A senior presidency official, who spoke to Truth Live News condition of anonymity, confirmed that the visit was centered on political realignments in Kebbi State ahead of future electoral contests and the need to strengthen the President’s base in the North-West region.

“President Tinubu has been actively engaging critical political stakeholders across the country, and today’s meeting with the three Kebbi senators is part of that ongoing conversation. Their defection to the APC is now a matter of when, not if,” the source disclosed.

While no official statement has been released by the senators as of press time, multiple sources close to their camps have confirmed that they are finalizing discussions with APC national leadership to make their move public within the coming days.

The anticipated defections will deal a significant blow to the PDP’s strength in Kebbi, a state that has long served as a political battleground between the two major parties.
