A father to a 12-year old pupil, Whitney Adeniran, of popular Lagos school, Chrisland Schools, is demanding justice for his daughter who allegedly slumped and died yesterday February 11 at the school’s Inter-house sports event which took place at the school’s sports competition ground.
The distraught father, Michael Adeyemi Adeniran, said his daughter left home hale and hearty, only to be called by his wife, who later attended the event that their daughter has been rushed to the hospital with no reasonable statement from the school in regards to why she was rushed out.
His wife who later located the hospital which their daughter was rushed to, was told that their child was brought in dead.
Adeniran further alleged that the school is yet to tell him what transpired at the event that led to the death of his daughter.
He said:
“For the general information of the public Chrisland School held such a magnificent event without a simple fully equiped ambulance, no paramedics, medical personnel or no safety corps, no paramedic except a school quack nurse. Who later confess to me that the child died even at stadium but she cannot pronounce her dead because she is not a Doctor.
“My question is what happen to my daughter at Agege stadium? As a father I demand answers from Chrisland International High School. I am in deep pain and sorrow right now. If you are a father you will.
“All authority kindly help my family to look into this matter. Understand my pain. My daughter is highly loved by us. We cherished her existence and we can never allow and institution to gloss over the death of our daughter.
“Since we started asking this questions. The school has been asking us to back down from autopsy and I know they know their way into the system.
“I am calling on the Pathology department of Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (lasuth) ikeja to please be honest with their result.
“Lagos state government, Nigeria Government, please intervene.” ????????????
#JusticeForWhitney.”
